Some winters unfold like a novel: they have an opening, unexpected turns and a final chapter. The 2026–2027 season is written in Courchevel from early December to mid-April, and each chapter deserves to be savoured. The resort welcomes its guests from 4 December 2026 to 18 April 2027. Between these two dates, an entire art of living unfolds.
December, a majestic opening
The curtain rises on December 4th. That evening, Courchevel launches the celebrations for its 80th anniversary with a grand evening at the Forum ice rink, bringing together residents, athletes and partners of the resort. Eighty years of history, one winter to celebrate them. On the slopes, the first snowfall invites skiers to enjoy the mountains in a quieter mood.
This season, the summit of Chenus welcomes a new 300 sqm panoramic wooden terrace, open to both skiers and walkers: the perfect place to admire the 3 Vallées in the crisp light of early winter.
Meanwhile, Maya Hotel reopens its doors on 11 December, unveiling a completely redesigned Maya Well, featuring a sauna, hammam, ice fountain and sensory shower, exclusively reserved for hotel guests.
Courchevel, a stage for competition
At the heart of winter, the resort shifts into another rhythm, and night becomes a stage. Courchevel hosts the French leg of the Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup, with a night slalom held on the Émile-Allais stadium during the school holidays. Under the floodlights, the world’s leading skiers will go head-to-head in a thrilling competition. Just a few days later, the Ski Mountaineering World Cup takes over from 20 to 22 January 2027.
Courchevel is about far more than its slopes, beautiful as they are. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ski touring, sledging and Nordic walking offer another way to experience the mountains, at a different pace.
The more adventurous can try their hand at climbing on the ice wall in Courchevel 1850; those drawn to quieter moments can enjoy a torchlit descent down illuminated slopes, while the more dreamlike among us take to the skies by paraglider.
When the clouds roll in, the Forum offers ice skating and bowling, while Aquamotion provides an invitation to unwind. Others may prefer the art of slowing down: a leisurely lunch at Maya Altitude, a treatment in the privacy of their room at Le Maya Hotel, a final drink at Maya Bar and Lounge, or dinner at MayaBay.
The pleasures of the end of the season
As the season draws to a close, Winter Legacy brings a fresh wave of energy on 4 April 2027, with a spirited race filled with challenges and good humour. The days grow longer, the snow softens and the terraces come back to life: the perfect time for those who love the mountains at their most unhurried.
In Courchevel 1850, winter is a composition played out over several months. Everyone finds their own rhythm, between landmark events, snow-covered stillness and carefully chosen moments.
Maya Hotel ensures that every chapter of this story, from the first morning to the final evening, lives up to everything one expects from the mountains.
